Live Model Drawing

The ‘Live Model Drawing’ workshop will focus on drawing the human figure based on observation. Beginners to advanced students are welcome to participate in this interactive art workshop, featuring a young Ballerina as their artistic subject. Figurative drawing has always been the cornerstone of artistic training, strengthening and building many technical skills in art – form, perspective, proportion. By exploring, and observing the emotional expression of the human body through a dancer, students will be able to push the boundaries of creativity.

Learning Outcomes:
- Develop different drawn mark-making techniques and approaches
- Strengthen your observation to take notice of minor details in completing a full work of art.
- Use drawing to communicate emotions, form, and movement

The first part of the class will be a short demo on the basics of live drawing, followed by a live model holding a ballet pose for 20 minutes. This opportunity will give students the chance to capture the figure with drawing techniques. Students are asked not to focus
on perfection, but on expression and emotion.

The instructor, Perry El Ashmawi is passionate about everything, and anything, that is art related. Perry has showcased her work in Montreal, Athens, Bahrain, and Dubai. In 2018, she conducted art workshops at The Louvre Abu Dhabi, as a represented artist for The Sheikha Manal Little Artist Program.
