Sahab Collective presents Becoming Writers: a high-calibre ten-session course for young authors aged 9 to 13. Held at The Workshop Dubai, this in-person programme offers young writers the rare opportunity to be published in the Sahab Collective Journal and to present their work at Sahab’s public Seasonal Showcase in December 2025.

This is a unique opportunity for a young writer to begin crafting a literary portfolio: an undertaking that is typically only introduced at later stages of formal education. Over ten weeks, participants will write with purpose, develop voice, and build the expressive and analytical skills that support both creative output and academic success.

Led by a published author and experienced educator, the course combines structured instruction with open experimentation. Writers will broaden their reading through selected texts; deepen their understanding of language; and strengthen their literacy through guided practice and peer exchange.

Each session invites discussion, close reading, and collaborative feedback. Participants will explore genre, structure, and voice, all while building confidence in how they think, write, and present their ideas.

At its core, the course fosters creativity, community, and collaboration. Writers will connect with like-minded peers; refine their work through shared critique; and grow in the knowledge that their voice and their words matter.
